About us

"Find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life"   - Mark Twain

It's a classic quote... but for me it's very very true.

Hi! I'm Hilary, and this is my small business, hilART

see what I did there?

I've always had such a love of crafting since I was young, mostly from watching Art Attack 24/7, so for me, to finally be able to launch hilART is a dream come true. All products are designed, handmade, and packed in house, quite literally from my kitchen table, in Ally Pally, London.

It's mostly a solo effort, but I do have the help of my partner Mark, and official mascot for hilART, Lenny the beagle 🐾

Thank you so much for checking out our website. Hopefully you find something you love, as much as I've loved making it for you.

Lots of terrazzo love,

All of our products are made from Jesmonite, an eco-friendly product loved by everyone from hobbyists to architects and manufacturers.

Jesmonite starts as two products, a powder and a liquid, and can be used for a wide variety of decorative purposes, due to it's versatility in achieving a range of textures and finishes.

A Green Dream

Jesmonite is eco-friendly, water based, and kind to the environment.

Our packaging is fully recyclable

Take care of me!

  • Our products are all sealed with a natural wax so are water resistant, but not waterproof.

  • Clean spillages as soon as possible to avoid staining. Light colours will stain faster than dark.

  • Wipe clean with a non abrasive damp cloth and dry throughly

  • Do not submerge or soak

  • Remove plants to water and return once drained

  • Not tested for food safety

  • Not suitable for the microwave or dishwaser

  • Fire resistant only, do not leave candles unattended

  • Jesmonite is very strong once fully cured, but if dropped on a hard surface may chip, scratch or break

  • All of our products are handmade, so whilst we make every effort to avoid air bubbles and uneven surfaces, some may be present

  • Colours may vary slightly. Chip size, chip placement and marble patterns are all unique
